THIS WEEK’S FIELD TIP
Are pebbles a problem on your infield surface? A steel mat drag will, over time, remove pebbles from an infield. At the end of each drag when you pick it up and the pile of spoils is there from the drag, use a sifter scoop shovel to sift through all of the spoils to sift the pebbles from the infield spoils. The infield will improve with time as long as you don’t aggressively nail drag deeply or till your infield. You may have to start all over again. To prevent this problem, make sure that the infield soil that you purchase never has any particles over 2mm in size. You get what you pay for. Spend the money on the right infield mix in order to avoid the problems that can be lurking within the cheaper infield soils. Find more tips and articles at Ballfields.com |
