PASCO, Wash. — A new multi-use sports complex could soon take form in East Pasco.
The sports complex will be located near the intersection of S Elm Ave and A St.
Recreation Services Manager Brent Kubalek said the entire project includes 10 athletic fields for soccer, lacrosse, rugby and ultimate Frisbee.
He said there’s a high demand for multi-use sports fields not only in Pasco, but the entire Tri-Cities area.
“We see that growing every year with the growing population,” Kubalek said. “The hope is that this will give us a good, quality complex where we can help meet the recreational sports needs of the community.”
Kubalek said they’re focused on Phase 1 which includes construction for three fields, a parking lot and the extension of Elm Ave.
He said Phase 1 will cost about $1.3 million, funded by the city’s parks development fund along with state grants.
A construction timeline has not been set.
Approval of Phase 1 will be determined in next week’s city council meeting.
