PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Bay County’s newest addition to its complement of sports facilities is hosting a grand opening Saturday.

The Panama City Beach Sports Complex will be holding a grand opening and ribbon-cutting at 9 a.m. Construction of the facility started in early 2018 and even with the delay of Hurricane Michael, the complex was able to hold its first tournaments shortly after its projected opening day of July 4.
The park is now fully capable of hosting at least seven different sports at the same time which is a testament to the flexibility designed into the complex.
Panama City Beach Sports Complex General Manager J.D. Wood said, “This just expounds upon the diversity that we can bring in sports tourism to the destination. So, I’m very excited about that and looking forward to really bringing in a lot of soccer, lacrosse, and football that really hasn’t had a home and for the new Sports Complex to be that home for the community.”
The complex is located approximately one mile west of the Hathaway Bridge on Back Beach Road.
