Petoskey’s MI. Winter Sports Park !
Tucked behind the hills, just out of sight from U.S. 31 on the north side of Petoskey on Winter Park Lane, is the Petoskey Winter Sports Park. Maintained and operated by the Petoskey Department of Parks and Recreation, the Winter Sports Park is a throw back to a Norman Rockwell setting. Featuring a sledding hill, a ski hill with tow rope, one of the largest outdoor skating rinks in the state, a hockey rink and a large modern warming building — all accessible free of charge — locals and visitors take advantage of the park whenever it is open. Many former residents return with their children and grandchildren to enjoy the small hometown feel, especially for the holidays. We spent an afternoon at the park during the recent holiday week.
